What changes

What changes when a GLB becomes an FBX

FBX is what most game engines and animation tools expect. This is how your GLB is carried over.

  • Textures inside the FBX

Every texture is embedded in the one .fbx file. WebP textures are saved again as PNG, which FBX apps read.

  • Rig and animations

A rigged GLB keeps its skeleton and skin weights, and every animation becomes its own take in the FBX.

  • Axes and scale for engines

Exported Y-up with −Z forward and the scale applied to the objects — the settings Unity and Unreal Engine import cleanly.

  • Both sides of thin faces

Faces the GLB shows from both sides get a second, turned copy, because FBX has no per-material double-sided switch — so engines that hide back faces show no holes.

How it works

GLB to FBX in three steps

  1. 1

    Drop your GLB

Up to 50 MB. It opens in 3D right away, before anything is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Sign in free

FBX is made on our servers, so it needs a free Wandy3D account.

  3. 3

    Download the FBX

The conversion takes a minute or two, and the file downloads by itself.

Your file stays yours

  • GLB, STL, OBJ or 3MF, up to 50 MB and 2 million triangles.
  • STL, 3MF and GLB (and OBJ from an STL or 3MF) are made in your browser — the file never leaves your device. For OBJ from a GLB, USDZ and FBX it is stored privately and deleted after 29 days.
  • Never used to train AI, never shown to anyone, never added to the community.
  • Delete an upload any time with one click — or together with your account.

Yes, with a free Wandy3D account: 5 conversions a day, up to 100 a day with a plan.

The FBX is written by our export tools on our servers. The account keeps your upload private to you and lets you delete it at any time.

They travel inside the FBX. Unity imports the embedded textures with the model, and Unreal Engine creates texture assets next to the materials when it imports the file.

Yes. When the GLB has a skeleton, the FBX keeps it with the skin weights, and each animation clip becomes a separate take.

It's uploaded privately, used only for your conversion, kept for 29 days and then deleted automatically — or at once when you delete it. It's never used to train AI. Details: Privacy Policy.

Yes. The GLB converter also makes OBJ with textures and USDZ for AR; STL and 3MF are made right in your browser with no account.
